Downtown Florence! On the first Friday of each month
from March through December, Historic Downtown
Florence comes alive with art, music, shopping and
entertainment for the whole family! Enjoy the sights
and sounds around every corner – dine in one of our
fine restaurants – shop at our galleries and stores –
or take a leisurely stroll to enjoy one-of-a-kind arts
and the finest live music around!

First Fridays Graphic Tees Are Back for 2011

The custom graphic tees that were introduced last fall to First Fridays fans will be on sale on June 3rd at the event Information Booth. Three distinct designs will be available, each for only $12 at the booth. Tees from other popular Florence events will also be available. Billy Reid Hosts “Party on the Plaza” for June 3rd First Fridays


Billy Reid is sponsoring their “Party on the Plaza” Music Event on Mobile Plaza in Historic Downtown Florence, AL during the June First Fridays. The two-day event, June 3rd-4th will include musical guests: John Cartwright & The Catapults, The Apache Relay, The Pine Hill Haints and The Romany Rye. The event is free to the public. Friday’s event will run from 5-8 p.m. The special Billy Reid window art installation was designed by Butch Anthony.

Creative Jewelers Launches Innovative Video Contest

Creative Jewelers has announced an open call for video shorts, with the opportunity to win $2,500 toward the future purchase of an engagement ring. A $200 store credit will be awarded to all other approved submissions.

City to close 2 blocks for First Fridays

FLORENCE - August’s First Friday will have a new twist: Two blocks of Court Street will be closed to vehicle traffic.

The monthly downtown arts event draws big crowds that gather along Court Street, Florence’s main downtown thoroughfare. With more people attending First Friday, event organizers have decided to block vehicular traffic along two blocks to accommodate the crowd and for safety purposes.

Author Patricia Landrum Counts will be signing her book, The Landrum
Collection of Historical Photographs, at First Fridays on May 7th from 5-8pm next to Ricatoni’s. The book features 200 pages and includes 235 historic photos of the Shoals area from the early 1900s to the late 1950s. The book will be available at the event for $29.99.
